College Democrats of New York

College Democrats of New York is the official college outreach wing of the New York State Democratic party. As an affiliate of College Democrats of America, our goal is to empower young progressives one student at a time. We are committed to electing strong progressive Democrats in the state of New York and across the country.

Executive Board 2017-2018

Claudia Stankiewicz, PRESIDENT 

Claudia is a senior at St. Lawrence University majoring in Government. In addition to serving as CDNY’s President, she is the Vice President of the St. Lawrence University Democrats. She has previously served as President of the SLU Democrats and as the Northern Region Chair of CDNY.

Beyond her engagement with the College Democrats, she has served as a campaign finance intern on Kim Myers’ Congressional campaign, and as the university liaison intern on Mike Derrick’s Congressional campaign. In the past, she has worked at a non-profit organization focused primarily on providing medical services and health care for the uninsured and underinsured in her community, a cause she is deeply passionate about. In the summer of 2018, she will intern in on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Claudia has been interested in politics from a young age, and recognizes the importance of civic engagement in the American political system.

Apart from the brief time she spent living in Gdańsk, Poland, she was raised in Oneida County, New York, where she now serves as a member on the Democratic Committee. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing tennis, and doing her best to sing along to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton.

Ryan Trumbauer, VICE-PRESIDENT

Ryan Trumbauer is a junior at New York University, majoring in Politics with a minor in Metropolitan Studies and Psychology. Ryan was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, grew up in Lexington, South Carolina, but is beginning to call New York City his second home. Ryan has served as Deputy Treasurer and Treasurer for College Democrats at NYU and is excited to serve as Vice President for the organization for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. Outside of NYU, Ryan is the College and University Liaison for Manhattan Young Democrats and serves as the National Historian for College Democrats of America. Ryan believes in fighting for all Americans despite their socioeconomic status or background. Democracy only works when all of its citizens can engage in the process.




Cody McEneny Ingraham is a senior at Siena College with a double major in History and Political Science and minoring in Broadcast Journalism, German, and Pre-Law, as a Standish Honors Scholar. He has been President of the Siena College Democrats since 2015 and was previously CDNY’s Membership Director and Eastern Region Chair.

Cody previously served as Political Director and Communications Director of the New York High School Democrats and President of the Guilderland High School Democrats. Cody is regularly involved in local and state politics, having worked on various campaigns including Pat Fahy for NYS Assembly, Cecilia Tkaczyk for NYS Senate, and Obama for America in 2012. Most recently, Cody worked in Hillary Clinton’s Manchester, NH campaign office and is a regular contributor to the Political Saints blog for Siena College.

Cody serves on campus as Executive VP of Operations for the Residence Hall Association, President of his Residence Hall, and Events Coordinator of the Siena College Political Science Society. In 2015, he coordinated Siena’s first Voter Registration Week, registering over 300 people to vote in two years and has played a critical role in making Siena more politically active. In January, 2017, Cody testified to the joint NYS Ways and Means Committee about Governor Cuomo’s Excelsior Scholarship Plan, advocating on behalf of college students statewide. Siena recently named Cody the “busiest kid on campus” because of all his work in the classroom and on campus.

Cody aspires to run for public office one day to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves. In his free time Cody enjoys playing the cello, volunteering, singing a cappella, and hanging out with friends!

Jaia Clingham-David, Communications Director

Jaia Clingham-David is a sophomore at Cornell University in the College Scholar Program with a minor in Public Policy. Although she grew up in Pennsylvania, most of her family was born and raised in New York City. Jaia hopes that going to college in Ithaca and serving on CDNY's e-board will help her become more engaged in NY state politics.

Thanks to her parents, Jaia has always been politically engaged. Her interest in government and politics arose from attending rallies and watching The Daily Show as a child. After her first internship with a local municipality, Jaia found her passion in government and working to better her community. In the summer of 2017, Jaia will be working in the NYC Comptroller’s Press Office.

In her free time, Jaia enjoys cooking, watching movies, and going to gym.


Arjun Reddy, Finance DIRECTOR

Arjun Reddy is currently a junior at New York University studying Finance, Economics, and Politics. He is from Poughkeepsie, New York and has spent his whole life living in New York.

Arjun has previously worked for the Hillary Clinton campaign, interning with the research department, and has helped out on a congressional campaign in Texas. In the summer of 2017, he will be interning for a growth equity firm.

He is interested in education policy and financial regulation to help promote the interests of those that feel left behind in the new global economy. In his free time Arjun enjoys reading about foreign policy, playing basketball, learning how to play chess. He may also have the best Instagram page in the Democratic Party.


Julia Alford, Development DIRECTOR

Julia Alford is a junior at the University at Albany, majoring in Political Science with a double-minor in Philosophy and Informatics.

Since high school, Julia has been an active member of the Democratic Party. Julia has worked on a number of local, state, and federal campaigns, including as a fellow for Hillary for New York during the 2016 presidential primaries. During her college career, she has interned for United States Representative Paul D. Tonko, United States Senator Charles E. Schumer, J Strategies Inc., the National Council for Jewish Women, and New York State Senator Liz Krueger.

Julia is passionate about advocating for women’s rights, including reproductive justice, equal pay, and sexual assault prevention. As a junior, she served as one of ten student advisors for the American Association of University Women to help combat gender inequality on campus.

In her free time, Julia likes to read, drink coffee, and watch Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.


Tyler Muzio, Membership DIRECTOR

Tyler Muzio is a senior at Stony Brook University studying Political Science and History. In addition to being CDNY's Membership Director, he is the president of the Stony Brook College Democrats.

His interest in politics was sparked by the Occupy Wall Street news coverage and the 2008 election. Since then, he has interned at the Kings County Supreme Court for two summers and has worked on numerous campaigns. 

Tyler was born and raised in Brooklyn (and has the accent to prove it). Some of his hobbies include no physical activity, reading too much, and gelling his curly hair. But, he seriously cares about fighting for civil rights and equality. His heroes include Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and Hillary Clinton.


Emma Runge, Secretary

Emma Runge is a sophomore double majoring in Government and Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University. She serves as the webmaster for the Cornell Democrats chapter.

Emma is interested in the intersection of the STEM fields and social sciences, specifically using mathematical methods to solve social problems. She is passionate about LGBTQ+, minority, and women’s rights, and environmental issues. In the summer of 2017, Emma will be living in a rural town in Kenya and working with the NGO Kenya Connect to discuss reproductive health in local schools and to help implement a reusable-sanitary pad program in order to break down barriers to education for women in Kenya.

Outside of CDNY and Cornell Dems, Emma loves to be outside sleeping in her hammock, swimming in the Ithaca gorges, or hiking.
